Do we have to purchase Microsoft services through 3cords?
Yes; our monthly per-user costs include the Microsoft services themselves, along with 3cords’ dedicated support and maintenance.
Can We use Google Workspace with 3cords?
3cords is not able to support Google services at this time. However, we can offer full migration of existing Google emails, calendars, contacts and cloud documents as part of the 3cords setup process for churches willing to move to Microsoft 365.
What if our organization already has Microsoft 365?

Your data belongs to you! We’ll help you export your data or provide the necessary details to another CSP for migration as needed.
Managed Computers
What is remote Computer management?
Remote device management relieves your staff of the constant burden of keeping staff computers working properly. With our complete solution, we keep your computers updated and secure, and we let the appropriate people know immediately when there are problems. Our system:
Automatically updates OS and common application software
Protects PCs and Macs from viruses and malware using Bitdefender technology.
Alerts you when hardware is failing, memory is full or other similar problems are detected.
Allows 3cords to add, remove and modify user accounts at your request.
Allows 3cords to enforce certain organizational policies on computers at your request
Provides an easy way for users to contact 3cords and submit a trouble report.
Allows 3cords professionals to remotely access your computers and assist your staff in real time when a problem occurs.
All these services are included in the standard monthly cost.
Does 3cords offer backup services?
Yes, we offer a backup solution for Windows PCs and Macs that will automatically back up important files and data in the cloud and restore that content in the event of a failure.
What if we already have an Anti-Virus solution?
We include and recommend using Bitdefender for endpoint protection. However, you can continue to use your existing self-managed endpoint protection solution if desired. 3cords is not able to provide support for other security software, however.
Can I mix Windows PCs and Macs?
Absolutely; you can mix and match any number and type of staff computers as needed.
Do Windows PCs or Servers need to be joined to Active Directory to be managed?
No, our remote management system works independently of Windows Active Directory.
What if we already use another device management solution?
In order for an existing computer to be managed by 3cords, it must first be removed from all other management solutions, including any local servers that manage software updates and patches. Windows computers may remain joined to a local Active Directory instance, but this is not required.
can 3cords manage our existing Active Directory?
3cords can provide basic support for an existing on-premises Active Directory instance, such as adding and removing users if requested. We recommend migration migration away from on-premises Active Directory and into the cloud, and we can design and perform this optional work for an additional cost.
Managed Firewall and Network (Optional)
What is “Managed” Network Equipment?
As an optional service, 3cords can manage supported on-site firewalls, network switches and Wi-Fi equipment. Similar to computer management, you own these devices, but we monitor and maintain them on your behalf as part of our service. Pricing varies but is generally per device, per month.
What Equipment is Supported by 3cords?
In order to provide the best possible support, 3cords only supports a limited selection Ubiquiti UniFi network devices. We’re happy to discuss the best options for your situation. You can purchase the devices from 3cords or bring your own supported devices.
What is a “Firewall?”
For simplicity, we refer to any device that provides Internet routing and some level of traffic security control as a “firewall.” This is typically an appliance that provides multiple “Internet gateway” services to your internal network. Commonly, each physical campus or location will have a firewall appliance.
What is a “Network Switch?”
Network switches connect computers, network-capable printers and other IT devices together using Ethernet cables. Each campus or location typically requires one or more switches per building, and often, multiple switches are connected together to form a larger network.
What is “Wi-Fi Equipment?”
Wi-Fi equipment includes wireless “access points” (APs) and other supporting devices that allow computers and other devices to connect wirelessly to the local network. The access points themselves require Ethernet cable connections back to traditional network switches.
What if we already have Another Brand of Network Equipment?
While we are not able to manage or support other brands of network equipment, we are able to help you purchase new UniFi devices that we can manage for you if desired. Please contact us for more information.
HOW Does 3cords ensure the best security settings for Network Devices?
We work closely with industry professionals to review and properly tighten security settings on all our managed devices. In combination with our regular device software updates, this provides the maximum protection for your network.
What if we already have UniFi equipment?
If your existing equipment is on our list of supported UniFi devices, we can manage those devices for you! Please contact us for details.
Why Does 3cords recommend Ubiquiti UniFi Devices?
Although IT professionals sometimes resist recommending “emerging” products, 3cords prides itself in creatively evaluating and selecting IT products which offer an appropriate balance of cost, reliability and performance. After extensive testing, we believe UniFi devices provide an excellent combination of these attributes for most small-to-medium enterprise environments.
Does 3cords provide on-site equipment installation?
We don’t currently provide physical installation, rack mounting or electrical services, but we can help you choose a local provider in your area who provides those services if needed. Once supported UniFi devices are physically installed, powered and wired, we’ll guide you through the remaining steps of getting them online and managed.
What happens to our UNIFI devices if we choose to leave 3cords?
All managed UniFi devices belong to you. If you choose to leave 3cords, we’ll remove your devices from our management systems, and you can associate them with another compatible system.
